  • A January 11th, 2019 article in the Odenton Patch referred to an earlier survey the Odenton Patch conducted of Odenton residents and what kinds of food and retail users they would like to see. The list is a Who’s Who of mostly national chains and who wouldn’t want the convenience of one in their own backyard. As a commercial Broker in the area for 35 years I can tell you no less than half of the “wish list” retailers have looked in this area and are already here or nearby. Every one of them has their own criteria for locations and the reality is that just wanting them isn’t enough - it is market driven.

  • For the past 11 years, I have had the honor and privilege to serve on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Fort Meade Alliance, advocating the needs and concerns on behalf of Fort George G. Meade. On 30 June 2018, that honor came to a close (for now I'm so told). For fear of forgetting to mention so many incredibly intelligent, dynamic and talented people I have worked alongside during this journey, I am only going to mention three that impacted me at my first meeting.

  • I recently received a letter from Sally Shoemaker, President of the Odenton Heritage Society and long-time Odenton resident. Sally has lived in Odenton most of her life and has dedicated much of it to identifying and preserving the original historic and cultural assets of our area. In fact, the Heritage Society, which has been responsible for the renovation of the 1917 Citizens State Bank building and the ongoing renovation of the original Odenton Masonic Lodge for museum space, would not exist if not for Sally’s efforts.
